media art 2- Assignment 1 (finalizing)

After done with the idea, it is time to compose it into an artwork.

  My 1st artwork :-

Using simple photoshop pen tool, i was able to create this art work and it doesn't take much of my time. This artwork turn out to be just the way i would like it to be.

In this artwork, i'll be using the words as button. It looks like an ordinary words, but its actually a button that you can interact with.

The reason why i choose this to be my composition are because it looks simple yet sophisticated. it doesn't shout too much but doesn't give too little either. It is not heart broken, its more of an aggravation. The emotion that i would like to portray here are mainly sad. You can never see sadness behind this picture, colors, and composition unless I told you.


 The second part of this assignment :-

information overload

At 1st, i would like to draw all of the wire and cable but i just realize that i sucks at coloring. Then I decided to take a photo instead. A lot of try and error picture was taken. After taking photos of scattered cable like in the artwork above, i just have to make the text align with each other. 

Same as the above, the word would be the button for this artwork.

In this artwork, I choose lots of cable but only 1 plug to connect all of them. it was all just to give the impression of "crowded". Imagine all of the information running through 1 cable plug in a single time. Its like a massive traffic jam on a small country road. The idea here is to show a "stressed" emotion. It supposed to give you the feeling of uncomfortable, messy, and unorganized... That is the meaning of this artwork.



The making of this two artwork were done by using the help of  grid. It helps me to align all the text and composite this artwork more efficiently. Now, all that left to do is to combine this with the template that Mr Bad provide.

After consulting with Mr Bad, i had come with some of the ideas that i want for this assignment. here are some of the development of my idea :

There are still drawing and flow of  idea that are not in this post, but they did help me with the development of this artwork.
eg: Mr Bad book of wisdom (the big fat illustration book)

(i) For the 1st part of this assignment, i choose heart as my subject matter. The heart has a bite mark on it indicates that it has been hurt or tempered with.

(ii) For the second part, i would just simply use wire cable, plugs and empty wall/ space to indicates a lots of information on a small conductor.

Done with the brainstorming, now i have to look into the net and find some thing that i can relate with my topic. There are some picture that i find interesting and plus, Mr Bad gave me an idea too. "SAUL BASS". We have to create two artwork in this assignment, so another one would have something to do with information.

In the first class of media art 2, we were ask to make 10 sketches. Anything from everything can be our subject. I think that Mr. Bad want us to get as much ideas as possible before we already know what we're suppose to do for our assignment 1.  

Assignment 3 (2) Final

Before I start my project, ive google a way to make a tire mark using Adobe Photoshop and this is what i get.

After i studied it, i improvise and use my own skill to create a better effect for tire tracks.
This method are used in my assignment 3.





After I've done with my artwork, this is what i get.

     The 1st picture shows that in the streets of Batu Feringgi, the is a lot of people. The shoe print indicates that people are rubbing shoulder while walking in there. The distance between the two set of shoe print are narrow and it shows that people are cramp up in there...
  
     The 2nd image shows the tire track from the illegal race that's been happening there. I want to portray an image where there is no genre of motorcycle when they race. All kind of motorcycle, from super bike to "motor kapcai" are involve.

Assignment 3 (2) ideas

    I want to find a creative and unique way to describe Penang in my point of view. To me, Penang is congested, pack with cars and traffic lights. Noisy and a lot of negative energy. i honestly dont like Penang accept for their Nasi Kandar.

    After doing some research, i came up with the idea of using remains such as foot print and tire tracks to portray the image of Penang.
